Why Exhibit?
India – one of the world’s biggest markets for machine tools
India is a highly attractive location for the sheet metal working industry. The country is one of the world's main purchasers of machine tools with an annual purchase value of around €285 million (2007) for forming machines alone – most of them imported.
Official statistics list approximately 500 major automotive suppliers, plus some 10,000 smaller companies and sub-contracting firms in this field. The auto components sector has grown considerably during the last decade (from €2 billion in 1997/8 to just below €10 billion in 2006/7). This in turn has led to increased demand for high quality machine tools for which India is one of the world's biggest import markets, with equipment originating mainly in the EU.
India enjoys a consistently high annual GDP growth of around 8%. In addition to cars and other modes of personal transport, on a consumer level there is considerable scope for growth in domestic appliances (white goods), home electronics and air conditioning units.
Mumbai – the perfect point of entry
For companies in the field of sheet metal working, Mumbai, on the western coast of the sub-continent, is the perfect point of entry to this highly relevant market. A large number of foreign companies have already settled here (the region attracts 25% of the foreign investment in India) and the administration is familiar with the needs and wishes of new investors. The international traffic links are first class and there are good connections to the other industrial centres throughout the country.
BLECH India – a highly focused exhibition
Now India is to have a highly focused exhibition exclusively dedicated to sheet metal working: BLECH India paves the way towards establishing successful business relations, both with customers for machine tools and with potential local agents or partners for joint ventures.
BLECH India - There is no better way of approaching this exciting growth market!
